HACK UCSC 2016 HOSTS 500+ TECH ENTREPRENEURS
FEBRUARY 1, 2016
A Hackathon is 1 to 3-day event where intelligent minds join together to produce an original product they have innovated. It consists of intense coding, minimal sleep, and lots of pizza. My team decided to make a social app that would keep subcultures communicating and staying connected. Although we were not able to finalize our project during the Hackathon's work period, we learned various skills and gained experience so that we can succeed in further projects.
CLUBS REACH OUT TO ATTRACT NEW MEMBERS
October 15, 2015
Moorpark College’s Club Rush is an event that gives clubs on campus the opportunity to showcase themselves and attract new members to join. I spent this specific club rush reaching out to people who enjoyed outdoor activities as I represented Outdoor Adventures Club. This event is important because I understood that the new members that join that day become the next officers. Prioritizing the clubs future is key to a successful club.
FRIDAY NIGHT SOCCER MAKES A COMEBACK
April 16, 2015
Soccer has been integrated into my life since I was a child. My coach at the time hosted free Friday clinics and an Easter egg hunt event. I volunteered to dress up as the Easter bunny and hop around with all the kids on the field as they hunted for their eggs as I wanted to contribute to my community. It was a great experience and was very rewarding to see everyone come together to an event with big smiles.
